The best way to preserve our environment is to keep Earth greener and greener every day, well that is one of our solutions.

Arbor Day has become a national and internationally celebrated day after people all around the world saw the need to take part in tree planting events and play their role in preserving the environment.

The main aim of Arbor Day is to raise awareness of trees and to help provide an educative service on the role trees and forests play on our planet.

The importance of Arbor Day

Arbor Day is important due to the long-term damage that deforestation has on the environment. Even though Arbor Day has been celebrated for over 100 years, it is becoming more important day by day. We are also seeing how trees can no longer be taken for granted. As such, it is then vastly important that we acknowledge the role that trees play in our environment and learn to appreciate their existence on planet Earth.

Ways to Celebrate Arbor Day

Planting trees is the obvious agenda for the day, however, if you cannot plant a tree in your garden, then you can organise groups with your friends, family or colleagues and plant trees at schools, aged homes, clinics, and so on. On the other hand, if you have a busy schedule and find it difficult to participate in tree planting then you can donate to Community Tree Planting

Another way is raising awareness of the importance of trees. This is the educating part of Arbor Day, learning more about the products that come from trees such as wood, and paper, and understanding how these are created and managed sustainably is still good for the environment.

You can also get involved in Food and Tree Africa and plant more trees in the area of your choice or donate a tree
